Jordan and Germany signed an additional EUR 22 million grant, bringing German grant support for the National Conveyance Project to EUR 127 million.
Jordan and Germany signed an additional EUR 22 million grant agreement to support financing of the National Conveyance Project. Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Zeina Toukan and German Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development Reem Alabali-Radovan signed the agreement in Amman. The additional contribution brought total German grant support committed to the National Conveyance Project to EUR 127 million. The support reflects the long-standing Jordanian-German development partnership in the water sector and contributes to Jordan's efforts to strengthen water security and resilience to climate change. The National Conveyance Project will establish a sustainable new source of drinking water through seawater desalination in Aqaba and conveyance to Amman and other areas of the Kingdom.
