Jordan and the Arab Fund signed a USD 189 million financing agreement to support electricity infrastructure required for the National Conveyance Project.
Jordan signed a financing agreement with the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development to support electricity supply infrastructure required for the National Conveyance Project. The agreement provides KWD 58 million, equivalent to approximately USD 189 million, to support the project's power-supply component. The financing will contribute to providing secure and stable electricity to National Conveyance Project facilities and strengthening the national grid's capacity to accommodate additional power, including renewable energy. Reliable power infrastructure is a critical enabling component of the National Conveyance Project, which requires substantial energy for seawater desalination and pumping water from Aqaba northwards through the conveyance system.
