Jordan and KfW advanced implementation of Germany's EUR 127 million contribution to the National Conveyance Project.
The Ministry of Water and Irrigation and the German Development Bank KfW advanced implementation arrangements for German financial support to the National Conveyance Project. Germany's contribution to the project totals EUR 127 million and forms part of the international financing mobilised for the National Conveyance Project. The support reflects the longstanding Jordanian-German partnership in the water sector and contributes to the project's implementation and Jordan's long-term water security. The National Conveyance Project will produce approximately 300 million cubic meters of additional drinking water annually through desalination at the Red Sea and convey the water north through major transmission infrastructure. The project will also incorporate solar photovoltaic generation to meet part of its energy requirements, supporting a more sustainable approach to desalination and water conveyance.
